The Ooh La La Box is a seasonal box of beautiful hand made goods by incredible makers, artists and designers from British Columbia. The Ooh stands for Out of Hand but is also a statement of awe of the talent, creativity and attention to craft that the featured makers all possess. (This is a one time purchase of our Holiday Ooh La La Box 2024)

Price:  $150 plus tax (but valued at over $200)
Delivery: free pick up at our shop located at 539 Fisgard St in downtown Victoria in the heart of Chinatown or mailed through Canada Post for additional fee. You can select which option you prefer at checkout.

If you have received one of our holiday boxes before you know I am all about tradition and the magic of this season. For those of us that live in Victoria, there is Butchart Gardens, the Santa Clause Parade, the Festival of Trees, the Polar Express at the Imax, Lights of Wonder and Out of Hand Modern Market (of course!). 

For many of us our traditions include a special shopping trip downtown. Lunch at one of the amazing restaurants and a few hours wandering the many incredible shops. It’s with great pride that I am now a shop owner in our lovely downtown shopping district and get to interact with so many people who pop in during their special holiday shopping trip. 

We have lots of shoppers picking up items for stockings. Which brings me back to your Ooh La La Box. I created a stocking list that doesn’t give specifics of what should go into my stocking but is a “helpful guide” with items such as something pretty, something that pampers, something useful, a sweet treat, a holiday memento, something to do, a thoughtful surprise and more. It’s with this list in mind that I have curated this box. 

And the inspiration behind the specific items…

The hustle and bustle of this fun and festive season is unavoidable. Separate the items selected to be in this year’s holiday box are lovely things. Together they are a calm in holiday season’s storm!

My hope is that whether you need this box in the days leading up to Christmas Day or on the 25th, that you set aside all the busyness and make yourself a cup of mulled wine, pour the candied nuts in a bowl, wear the earrings, spend some time on the puzzle, writing, or indulging in a warm bath, and just enjoy reflecting on the time and effort you have you have put into the season and the memories made.

1. Something to do – a custom puzzle by Puzzle Lab of Victoria. Using original artwork by Emma Pyle of our little shop, enjoy the quality with this custom wooden puzzle. The unique pieces make this puzzle tricky but super fun. 
2. Something pretty – a pair of earrings by Niyiem. I wear these just about every day and have received so many compliments on them. They look good with anything, so light you forget you are wearing them and are simply fab!
3. A holiday memento – wooden tree ornament by Coastal Roots. I like to give ornaments to family and friends and often use them as a present topper. This tree ornament is layers of West Coast love by Crystal or Coastal Roots Design. 
4. Something that pampers – bubble bath by Sealuxe. Gorgeously scented bubble bath with all natural ingredients. Slide into a bath and take a few moments away from the hustle and bustle. 
5. Something thoughtful – a letterpress notebook by Porchlight Press. Custom made for this box, this beautiful little notebook is for holiday notes, end of the year thoughts, or anything else you want to remember or reflect on.
6. Something useful – two custom pencils by Prairie Chick Prints, one pink and one white wishing you Happy Ooh La La Holidays to use when making notes in your notebook.
7. A sweet treat – candied walnuts by West Coast Nuts is a nostalgia item. It was included in our first holiday box and is a custom recipe that Jen of West Coast nuts created reminiscent of the holiday nuts my mom would make. 
8. A holiday toast – mulled wine by Fuse & Sip. Perfect for this box, Mulling it over Mulled Wine Kit is delicious and will make your home smell so very festive. 
9. End of year inspiration – a ceramic mug by Prairie Chick Prints. The mug blank is not handmade but Crystal has applied her “Do What you Love” design to each and every one of these mugs. In Ooh La La pink it is included to hold your mulled wine and remind us all to spend time doing what we enjoy or better yet – what we love!
